What is Institutional Research? Institutional research is the gathering and analyzing of information for external reporting and to support institutional decision making. This is the primary function of the Office of Research Support.
Data sources for institutional research activities include enterprise computer systems and surveys administered to students, alumni, and others.
There are a variety of other research offices at Duke University. These include the Office of Sponsored Programs, Duke Clinical Research Institute, and the Social Science Research Institute.
