The Fuqua School of Business

In its relatively short history, The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina has established itself as one of the leading business schools in the world. Offering numerous resources and programs that attract, or cater to, international students, The Fuqua School has positioned itself in the forefront of internationlization.

International Center
Fuqua's International Center coordinates several important components of everyday life in the Daytime Program at the business school. We have:

  • Over 50 countries and cultures represented on campus.
  • 28 exchange programs with top business schools in 17 different countries.
  • GATE (Global Academic Travel Experience) opportunities covering more than a dozen countries.
  • Frequent international activities and international club events on campus.
  • ESL workshop, Working Spanish, Portuguese or Mandarin.

Global Capital Markets Center

The Global Capital Markets Center (GCMC) is a unique collaboration between The Fuqua School of Business and Duke Law School. Building upon the strengths of both top-ranked schools, the GCMC provides an interdisciplinary approach to examining global capital markets.

International Retreats

The Duke MBA International Retreat is an annual event intended to strengthen Fuqua's global presence and alumni network. Held each summer in an exciting international city, the three-day event features interactive seminars and events, as well as presentations by Fuqua’s dean, faculty members, business dignitaries and alumni. Fuqua alumni are invited and encouraged to participate in these engaging and informative retreats.

The Duke MBA – Global Executive program is geared toward business executives with an average of 14 years' work experience.  This pioneering, 19-month program combines unique residential sessions in Asia, South America, Europe and Duke’s main campus in Durham, North Carolina, with Internet-enabled distance learning allowing students to live and work anywhere in the world while participating in the program.

The Duke MBA-- Cross Continent program is a 20-month program which targets high-potential professionals, averaging six years of work experience.  Flexibility is maximized through a dynamic format that blends the best aspects of traditional classroom teaching in North Carolina, Europe and Asia with Internet-enabled distance learning.  Students continue their careers while studying from anywhere in the world.

The Duke Goethe Executive MBA Program - Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and Frankfurt University’s Goethe Business School have joined forces and established the Duke Goethe Executive MBA, a dual-degree, 22-month executive MBA program for working executives.  Teaching takes place mainly in Frankfurt by faculty from both schools and is combined with two weeks of in-residence classroom instruction at the Duke campus in Durham, as well as through the Internet using Duke’s distance-learning platform.

We have a joint venture with Enterprise LSE, the London School of Economics and Political Science's (LSE) commercial subsidiary. LSE is the world's leading social sciences institution. It has a global reputation for excellence spanning economics, international relations, trade, government and law, information systems, and accounting and finance. LSE faculty provide insights into emerging markets, the changing nature of risk, operating in regulated environments, and other geopolitical issues important to business decision makers.

The Duke University Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) was established in 1992 by the Fuqua School of Business. It is one of 30 CIBERs located at a major U.S. university and funded by the U.S. Department of Education for the purpose of curriculum development, research, and training on issues of importance to U.S. trade and competitiveness.

Since its inception, the Duke CIBER has fostered research on international issues and developed methods for incorporating international content into the business school curriculum through specialized international electives, foreign language courses, and the promotion of international research. In addition, CIBER creates outreach programs to the business and educational communities by offering executive education programs and research to support an internationally grounded curriculum
